KI USE [Eastern Races, Ki]

You have learned to focus your concentration and use your ki.  By drawing on your inner strength you are capable of feats others find quite surprising.

Benefit: You have the ability to spend ki points and start off with 2 ki points plus your Charisma modifier (if positive, so you have a minimum of 2 points).

Before making an attack roll, skill check, or saving throw, you may spend 1 ki point to gain a +2 ki bonus to your d20 roll.  As a free action, once per round on your turn, you may spend 1 ki point to gain a +2 ki bonus to your Armor Class until the next turn (this bonus should be treated as a deflection bonus).  You may not spend more than 1 ki point on one attack roll or skill check.  (Other feats or abilities -- such as those for the monk, samurai, and sohei -- may allow you to do so; ki bonuses always stack with other ki bonuses.)  Certain Ki and Tattoo Magic feats cannot be used without spending ki points and thus have this feat as a prerequisite.

Ki use requires a great deal of concentration and so a frightened or panicked character cannot may not spend ki points for any reason.

All ki points are recovered at a rate of 1 per hour of peaceful meditation.  (Classes such as the monk, samurai, and sohei recover ki at a much faster rate.)

All uses of ki points are considered supernatural abilities unless noted otherwise.

Special: The monk, samurai, and sohei, along with any other class that has a Ki Pool class ability, is considered to have this feat.  Many times when this feat is a prerequisite for another feat or ability, it will say "or Ki Pool class ability."  Except where noted otherwise, any class with a Ki Pool adheres to the same rules laid out here.
