GRATEFUL DAIMYO [Samurai]

In return for an accomplished mission or favor performed for a noble, daimyo, or other important leader, you have earned the ongoing gratitude of the leader in question.  In effect, the leader views you as a trustworthy individual and is willing to go out on a limb to assist you in the future.  This is not a one-time favor -- the leader is so impressed by you that his feelings of respect and admiration continue, effectively, forever.
Prerequisite: Daimyo's Cause class ability; you must be involved in the successful completion of a particular mission for a daimyo or other important personage.
Benefit: The daimyo (or appropriate noble) will not perform any favors for you that would endanger his own position, but they are quite willing to do any of the following:

  • Offer a loan worth 1,000 gp per level to you.  This is an interest free loan that must be repaid in one year.
  • Offer to put in a good word for you with other nobility.
  • Allow you and your companions to reside in one of the leader's estates (or even his own home) for a period of no more than ten days.
  • Protect you from local law enforcement until such a time as a full inquiry can be arranged.  In this case, you will normally be kept under house arrest until your guilt or innocence can be ascertained.

As seen in the examples, any reasonable favor within the daimyo's power will be granted.

Special: While this feat cannot be "lost," if you are reduced to 0 honor you are unable to receive further favors from the leader until you restore your honor.  Even those who admire you can feel little but shame for you when you have fallen so far from your lofty heights of honor.  Likewise you cannot call upon this feat if you are ronin.
